Compared to the Sweet Lilacs

we’re burnt out stars.

Still, I wonder what stops you

from leaping into the arms

of the stuttering man on the street,

his body a distant shadow

there is no trace of.

An eyelash of a wish peeks out

the two slits of his eyes.

Now I’m going to tell you to kiss his narrow mouth.

Now I’m going to tell you to bind us to the shivering marvel

in the road.
