Internship and Volunteer Opportunities

Trio House Press hosts graduate student and advanced undergraduate student interns each semester, and welcomes volunteers who want to join us in our mission to publish and promote poetry and prose that represents a diversity of voices, subjects, and artistry.

Applicants should be self-starters, have read significant recent poetry collections and/or creative nonfiction book-length works, have taken coursework in those areas, and/or have experience editing/reading for their campus literary magazine or an independent literary magazine.
Undergraduates who will receive college credit for their internships or who have received internship grants from their colleges or nonprofits are preferred, as are those familiar with Trio House Press titles.

As with interns, applicants should be self-starters, and have an understanding of and appreciation for the contemporary poetry and/or creative nonfiction landscape, have taken coursework in those areas, and/or have experience editing/reading for their campus literary magazine or an independent literary magazine. We also appreciate volunteers familiar with our list and aesthetics.
Current Openings:
Submission Readers (June 1 - July 15, 2025):
We will hold our Open Reading period in June of 2025, and need readers to help us assess submissions. These are volunteer positions, and applicants should meet the requirements listed above in terms of experience and interests. If chosen as a reader, you can expect to spend 10 - 20 hours per week from June 1 - July 15 assessing manuscripts. Past readers have enjoyed the community they find in their reading teams, and have learned more about the way small presses function, what they value, and what editors look for in submissions. We hope you'll consider joining us!
To apply, please fill out this Google form. The form will be open until all reader positions are filled, or April 30, whichever happens first.
